Noah's Ghoulish Gourds
Noah had a huge heart and loved to help his friends with special needs. Again, we felt the tug of Noah's spirit when we met Izzy Shepard and her parents - Thomas and Tina. Izzy is a young lady with cerebral palsy, a chromosome deletion condtion, a beautiful smile and special wheelchair that is too heavy for one of her parents to lift alone. We made a night of fun and food near the eve of Noah's 19th birthday, in honor of his compassion and love for others - by helping Izzy's family raise funds for a wheel-chair friendly van. Izzy and her family were beautiully out-fitted as Alice, the March Hare, Queen of Hearts and Mad-Hatter. With a delicious spaghetti dinner, great tunes provided by Jon Klassen, a special song by Casey Lucas - and lots and lots of fun - we put on the 2nd annual “Noah’s Ghoulish Gourds – Carving Out Compassion” event. We raised $xx00 to benefit the Shepard family in their effort to buy the van that was much needed. They can now transport Izzy to appointments, family, friends and ... Wonderland.
